New Product Announcement: Multi-vehicle cost gauge

PERSENTECH is pleased to announce the introduction of its latest product, the OttoView-CVS43 cost gauge and data logger.

The OttoView device is an affordable solution for any enterprise with a fleet of vehicles: from small couriers with a handful of cars to multinational trucking operators with hundreds of trucks and trailers. OttoView will collect and store GPS, vehicle diagnostic information, and user-entered information for maintenance and trip security data needs, and can send trip information in real-time over-a cellular network for location tracking and vehicle-use reporting when used in combination with PERSENTECH`s OttoFeet Management System.

“Unlike the other gauges in your vehicle, OttoView will display fuel cost, fuel economy and the equivalent CO2 emissions during every trip”, says PERSENTECH’s President Frank Franczyk.  “OttoView will also provide you with audible driving alerts when speeding and when approaching certain community safety areas in a similar manner to the Otto driving companion product ”.

In addition to the vehicle tracking and driver safety-related benefits, OttoView will record and display the type of vehicle-use information that many companies and individual businesses are trying to figure out, such as carbon footprint estimates and the impact of driving behaviour in naturalistic driving environments.

“The OttoView cost gauge display is the only after-market device that we are aware of that can connect to both passenger cars and transport trucks and that can provide you with such information”, added Frank. “It is also portable and very easy to install with a single cable connection to your vehicle”.

The device has already been deployed across Canada in the Canadian Vehicle-Use Study run by Transport Canada for monitoring both passenger vehicles and heavy-duty transport trucks.

Persen Technologies Incorporated (PERSENTECH) has released a commercial version of the OttoView-CVS42 device that has been used in the Canadian Vehicle Use Study (click on link to view the Transport Canada website).  The commercial version operates with PERSENTECH's OttoFleet Management System (OFMS) that provides an affordable solution for every type of fleet - from an individual realtor or a small courier with a handful of cars to a large multi-national service and delivery operator.

The OttoView device collects and stores GPS, vehicle diagnostic information, and user-entered information on a memory card and displays trip information on a monochrome screen including fuel cost, trip mileage and time, idling time, fuel economy, CO2 emissions and more. When set up on a cellular network, the device will also send trip reports to the OFMS server and this provides you with location tracking and vehicle-use reporting.
